David Ketchum
David Ketchum is Chief Executive Officer of Upstream Asia, a full service marketing and corporate communications network ideally positioned to help companies make the most of business opportunities in the Asia Pacific region. He specializes in brand building, and corporate and marketing communications for companies expanding their business in Asia Pacific.
He is the author of BIG M, little m Marketing: New Strategies for a New Asia, published in May 2003 by John Wiley & Sons. David is also the Chairman of the Asia Digital Marketing Association and a founding board member of the Council of Public Relations Firms in Hong Kong.
Based in Asia since 1991, David has provided strategic counsel and managed campaigns for such companies as AT&T, Calvin Klein, Citibank, CNN, eBay, EDS, General Motors, HP, Intel, Microsoft MSN, Nortel Networks, Sony, Sun Microsystems and United Distillers.
Prior to founding Upstream Asia, David was senior vice president, marketing and communications for Calvin Klein, Inc. where he established the regional office for Asia Pacific brand marketing, advertising, public relations and retail promotion operations.
Previously he was vice president of Burson-Marsteller, where he was Hong Kong/China marketing director and later general manager of Korea.
Before coming to Asia, David held senior positions with Hill & Knowlton in New York and London, where he oversaw Barclays Bank, DuPont, GTE Mobilnet, PepsiCo, and Polygram, among others.
David began his career with Cunningham & Walsh Advertising in New York.
